A Lower Gweru man died after he was stabbed by his neighbour following a dispute over goats.

Patrick Mutizwa (47) of Kudzanayi Village under Chief Sogwala in Maboleni died after his neighbour Amos Zvenyika allegedly stabbed him.

According to Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the murder happened on 25 June 2023 after Mutizwa had a misunderstanding with Zvenyika’s wife over stray goats.

“The now deceased Patrick Mutizwa was found assaulting his neighbor’s wife over goats that usually strayed into his field destroying crops. This did not go well with the neighbour Amos Zvenyika who avenged by assaulting Mutizwa.

He allegedly stabbed him with a sharp object. The latter bled profusely and died the following morning,” he said.

Mahoko said the police conducted investigations and conveyed the body to Gweru Provincial Hospital.

Police are appealing to members of the public to desist from resorting to violence when solving disputes.
