No to violence, elitist politics: Nhema

Francis Nhema a senior official from Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party, emphasized the importance of people-centered leadership during a rally at Mbizo 4 Shopping Centre, yesterday.
Addressing local leadership at the rally Nhema urged aspiring Zanu PF candidate for Mbizo Constituency Vongaishe Mupereri and district chairpersons to prioritize open communication with the electorate.

Nhema said leaders need to build strong and meaningful connections with the people they represent.
“As an aspiring leader for Mbizo Constituency, you should actively seek to establish a strong rapport with the electorate by being accessible and receptive to their concerns. This is not the time for you to sleep and be exclusive to certain sections of society you should open the door for all supporters,” he said.

Nhema also underscored the role of district chairpersons, who are tasked with mobilizing support for Zanu PF and its candidates. He urged these officials to adopt a peaceful and non-violent approach in their efforts to secure votes.
“As chairpersons, you should conduct door to door campaigns but as you do so do not break people’s doors through violence. Lets us be peaceful. If you know you do not have good relations with a section of the electorate you should mend the relationship than further complicate issues,” he said.
The call for a people-centered leadership and nonviolent approach comes at a crucial time as Zimbabwe heads for elections.
