A 23 year old Redcliff man died after he was struck on the head with a stone by a mentally ill patient, Rodrick Hove, near Spar Supermarket on Wednesday morning.

Tatenda Maboreke died on admission at Kwekwe General Hospital and the mentally ill patient was placed in police custody after he was apprehended by members of the public.

Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident and arrest of Hove.
