Daring women rob Kwekwe man

Daring women who are part of a suspected four-gang team robbed a Kwekwe man recently along the Harare Bulawayo Road before Sherwood Blocks after they had offered him a lift.

The women and their two male accomplices are said to be using an unregistered Honda Fit.

Simelukuthula Ncube (29) was robbed of US$420 and an Itel S18 cellphone by the robbers who dumbed him after the act.

Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.

“Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms an armed robbery where a 29year
the old man was robbed of USD$ 420 by four adults who gave him a lift in an
unregistered Honda Fit motor vehicle. The incident occurred along Harare
-Bulawayo Road,  Kwekwe on 13 August 2023 at around 1200 hours.
Allegations are that, on 13 August 2023, the complainant Simelukuthula
Ncube aged 29 of Fitchlea, Kwekwe boarded an unregistered black
Honda fit at Senderai roundabout, Kwekwe Central Business District
going to Sebakwe Block plots, outside Kwekwe.

He occupied the back seat and the vehicle was being driven by a man who had three other
passengers; one man in the front seat and two females in the backseat,” he said.
Mahoko said the robbers drove in the Harare direction and upon reaching the 204km peg,
near Sebakwe Bridge, the driver pulled the vehicle off the road and
parked.
“The male passenger disembarked from the motor vehicle and opened
the back passenger door from outside. He pointed to the complainant with
an unidentified pistol and ordered him to surrender all his belongings.
The two females searched the complainant and took a wallet with cash
amounting to US$420-00 and anItelS18 Pro cellphone. They then
pushed the complainant out of the vehicle and drove away,” he said.
Police have called on members of the public to use registered public
service vehicles when travelling.
