One person died and several others were injured when a commuter omnibus and a Toyota Wish vehicle collided near Golden Mile Hotel today.

A Globe and Phoenix Primary pupil died on the spot after the collision.

According to eye witnesses the commuter omnibus was coming from Rutendo enroute to town when it was involved in a head on collision.

“The commuter omnibus was coming from Redcliff direction when he overtook a bus and collided with a Wish which was headed towards Gweru. The driver of the kombi was careless as he overtook on a bend without checking if there was oncoming traffic,” said an eye witness.
