Police in Midlands are investigating the murder of a 21-year-old female student teacher whose lifeless body was discovered in a room at Guinea Fowl High School on the evening of 25 January 2025.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has identified the deceased as Keener Tsanana, a student teacher stationed at the school. According to Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, a security guard employed at the school, Simbarashe Dzimba, reported the incident to the authorities.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Tsanana was last seen on 24 January 2025, in the company of Valentine Tamuka Zireva, a student at Hillside Teachers College in Bulawayo. Zireva, believed to be her boyfriend, was seen entering the school premises with the deceased.
Police have further revealed that some of Zireva’s personal belongings were found in the room where Tsanana’s body was discovered. His current whereabouts remain unknown, and he is now a person of interest in the case.
Inspector Mahoko said the police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating Zireva. Citizens with relevant details are urged to contact their nearest police station or inform officers on patrol.
