Two brothers, Tinashe and Michael Moyo, recently appeared in court and were remanded to 5 February 2025, for allegedly stabbing Tinashe Nyabonda to death at Old Mbizo Shopping Centre on January 18, 2025.

According to court documents, the Moyo brothers reportedly attacked Nyabonda with a metal object, striking him on the collarbone. Nyabonda collapsed on the scene and later succumbed to his injuries at Kwekwe General Hospital, where he had been admitted.

Michael denied participating in the alleged murder. He claims that during his time in police custody, he was subjected to physical abuse by officers hence the admission of guilty.

Magistrate Mildred Matuvi announced that the case would be back in court on 5 February 2025 to determine the full details of the case and the brothers’ culpability.
