Veteran football coach Luke “Vahombe” Masomere has vowed to lead Hardrock Football Club to glory following his appointment as the team’s Technical Director. The Kwekwe-based side, which competes in the ZIFA Central Region Division One League, is currently riding high after a 2–0 opening match victory over ZRP Gwanda FC.
Speaking after taking up his new role, Masomere said he was honoured to join the ambitious club and is ready to put in the hard work needed to meet the targets set by the management.

“I feel very much honoured to be here,” said the outspoken coach. “I promise to meet the targets set by the club, and I will have to work very hard to achieve that. I won’t do it alone – it’s going to be a team effort.”
He emphasised that the success of Hardrock FC will require unity from all stakeholders, including players, coaches, supporters, sponsors and the executive.
Masomere, who is no stranger to Zimbabwean football, brings with him decades of experience. He famously led AmaZulu to their only league title in 2003 and has coached several top-flight clubs including Dynamos, Highlanders, Shabanie Mine and Hwange. Known for his tactical sharpness and charisma, Masomere’s appointment is seen as a bold statement of intent by Hardrock FC.
Currently third on the league table with 3 points, Hardrock FC will be looking to maintain momentum when they face Tongogara FC at Baghdad Stadium on Saturday.
“I am promising our supporters a very good season. “I urge them to come in their numbers, whether we are playing at home or away. They must rally behind their team,” Masomere said.
