Kwekwe gospel star  Nyengera drops new hit

Gospel powerhouse Julia Nyengera has returned to the spotlight with a brand-new single titled “Joshua”, released on 14 November 2025 and the song is already trending on YouTube.

The spiritually charged track marks her first major release since her 2019 album NdiJesu wenyasha, and fans are praising it as one of her most powerful works yet.

Nyengera, a pastor at Heal the World Ministries and one of Kwekwe’s most loved female gospel voices, said Joshua is not just a song, but a message of courage, faith and victory.

Joshua comes after the album NdiJesu wenyasha which was produced in 2019,” she said in an interview.

Born with a calling, the singer began her musical journey at just five years old and has never looked back.

“I started singing at the age of five. I am inspired by the word of God,” she shared.

Nyengera broke into the gospel scene in 2013 with her debut album Jesu Wangu, followed by NdiJesu wenyasha in 2019. But the journey, she admits, has not been easy.

“As an artist I faced so many challenges. The first one was exposure. In our city there are few platforms to showcase talent and few gospel promoters,” she said.

Still, she credits God’s favor and unwavering support from her husband, Tobias Nyengera.

Her talent has not gone unnoticed. In 2020, she won Best Female Gospel Artist at the Kwekwe Arts Merit Awards.

Now with 15 songs under her belt, Nyengera continues to evolve. While 14 of her tracks were recorded by renowned producer Lyton Ngolomi, Joshua brings something fresh — recorded by rising producer Haniel Muzerengwa.

Her discography includes powerful, thought-provoking songs such as “Dzimwe Nguva”, which remains a fan favorite, and “Amandikonda”, a soulful Nyanga-inspired track rooted in her upbringing.

With Joshua climbing fast on YouTube, Julia Nyengera is proving once again that her voice — and her message — is one that Zimbabwe’s gospel landscape can not ignore.
