A well known Southwood, Kwekwe man, Tangai Chinhava (45) and his alleged daughter appeared in court yesterday before Magistrate Sharon Gava facing charges of incest. The charges comes following allegations that he slept with his 21year old daughter, Nicole Munyanyiwa.

Chinhava is being jointly charged together with his alleged daughter Nicole Munyanyiwa as the State said the duo had sexual relations from January 2025 to February 2026.

The two were remanded out of custody to 11 June 2026 on US$100 bail each.

According to State papers Chinhava is the biological father of Munyanyiwa.

The State papers said that on a date unknown but in January 2025 Chinhava proposed love to Munyanyiwa and she accepted. It is said from January 2025 to February 2026 the two became romantically involved, exchanging romantic messages and engaged in sexual intercourse several times.

It is said the matter came to light sometime in 2025 when Munyanyiwa allegedly informed her cousin Kudzai Mpofu through a phone call that she was engaging in sexual intercourse with her father. Mpofu it is said did not inform anyone about the offence.

It is said sometime in April 2026, Munyanyiwa told his father’s ex-wife Diana Jecha about the act and that she suspected that he was responsible for her pregnancy Munyanyiwa then allegedly made a police report leading to the arrests.
