Kwekwe Town Clerk Dr. Lucia Mnkandla has been recognized for her outstanding leadership and achievements, winning the prestigious Outstanding Female CEO of the Year 2023 Gold award at the Megafest Women’s Awards recently.

This comes as another feather in her cap, following her previous success at the Megafest National Business Awards, where she was honored as the Business Transformation Leader of the Year 2022.

Dr. Mnkandla humbly attributed her success to the spirit of unity and collaboration among the councilors, management, and residents of  Kwekwe.

She expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support and cooperation, stating that this recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of the entire community.

“What makes us win is that we work as a team and Vision 2030 also makes our work easy as it guides us towards achievements that we should work towards. Besides that, we also have our own targets as a city which we are meant to guide our roadmap to become one of the best-run cities in the country, the region, and beyond by 2030.

This is not my win but it is for all of us. This is a clear indication of the unity that the city has and that unity is important as divided we fall,” she said.

Under Dr. Mnkandla’s leadership, Kwekwe has witnessed a remarkable transformation. Her visionary approach and strategic initiatives have propelled the town towards progress and development. She has overseen various projects that have improved infrastructure, enhanced service delivery, and bolstered the local economy.
