Dr Bhasera made the remarks recently during a field tour of Dr Siband’s Bem 3 Kuguta Farm    Kwekwe.

He said that the production at the farm was a clear indication of a leader working towards achieving the country’s Vision 2030 goal.

“Agriculture as seen here on this farm plays an anchor role in the attainment of Vision 2030. This is through employment creation, supplying of raw materials, growth of the rural economy, and of course export hence earning foreign currency.

As you can see all that is available on this farm and if we get at least ten people from each province we will go a long way in becoming self-sufficient,” he said.

Dr Bhasera said meanwhile the country is expecting 420 000 to 430 000 tonnes of wheat from the 90 101ha put under winter wheat nationally.

The farm also thrives in soya beans, fish farming, and livestock rearing amongst other projects.
