Four brothers rob Shurugwi farm

Four brothers from Chief Mkoka area, Gokwe robbed two men at Wildbeast Farm, Shurugwi and got away with cash, gold and various goods worth US$1 100.

The brothers, Tafadzwa (26), Dudzai (25) and Misheck (24), Happison Dube (21) and Kudakwashe Sijoli (20)  all of Maqlanda village, under Chief Mkoka, Gokwe allegedly committed the robbery on 19 January 2024 at about 2300 hours.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police the five men armed with machetes pounced on a homestead at Wildbeast Farm, Shurugwi and got away with cash, gold a,nd various goods worth about US$1100-00.

Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said Trevor Mubhadha (25)  of Wildbeast farm, Shurugwi, retired to bed in a tuck shop. At around 2300 hours five men forcibly opened the door and gained entry.

“One of the suspects placed a machete on his left ear demanding cash. Mubhadha gave them cash USD$400 dollars and 10 grams of Gold.

The five suspects proceeded to the kitchen where they found Thabani Gundani, a man aged 20 years, sleeping. One of them struck Gundani on the left cheek with the flat side of the machete, demanding cash. They took various clothing items, a gas tank, a gas stove, and an A56 Itel smartphone and went away,” said Inspector Mahoko.

Inspector Mahoko said that on 20 January 2024 at around 0700 hours Mubhadha spotted three of the suspects and alerted the police who were on patrol.

The three Tafadzwa, Dudzai, and Misheck were arrested whilst the other two Happison and Sijoli are on the run.

Police are appealing to anyone with information which can lead to the arrest of Happison and Sijoli.
