A Redcliff businessman who killed seven people in 2021 has been committed to Mlondolozi Prison by Kwekwe Magistrate Mildred Matuvi after he forced a man to perform sexual acts on him at knife point.

Thubelihle Kheshow (30) initially appeared before Kwekwe Magistrate Mildred Matuvi last week who ordered that he be remanded in custody for a mental examination awaiting his commital at Mlondolozi Prison.

Magistrate Mutuvi on Friday ordered that he be committed to Mlondolozi which deals with prisoners with mental cases after two doctors examined him.

“The accused was examined by two medical doctors and they advised the court that he should be treated accordingly as a mental patient thus he should be taken to Mlondolozi for treatment.

Kheshow tried to plead with the court to be released.

“I am taking my medicine after I defaulted. I do not want to go to Mlondolozi as I still have medication at home,” said Kheshow.

Magistrate Mutuvi maintained that he needed to be committed at Mlondolozi.

According to the State, Kheshow on 10 January 2024, at around 10 AM, called the complainant (name withheld) to his house under the pretext that he wanted to discuss business with him.

“As the complainant arrived at the accused’s house, the accused locked the door with the complainant inside the house. He forced the complainant to remove all his clothes while threatening him with a knife,” the court heard.

Kheshow allegedly assaulted the complainant with a kitchen knife at the back of the head and he sustained a deep cut on the head.

It is said he forced him to perform sexual acts and play with his manhood as he recorded with his mobile phone.

Kheshow, it is said later released the man who reported the matter to the police leading to his subsequent arrest.

In the 2021 murder case, Kheshow was released after the courts passed a not guilty verdict after it was proved he was insane.
