Kwekwe CCC activists convicted

Two Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activists who were facing charges of holding an unsanctioned rally in July this year were convicted when they appeared before Kwekwe Magistrates Court yesterday.

The duo of Nkosilathi Emmanuel Moyo and Albert Marashe await sentencing on Monday.

Moyo and Marashe had their application for discharge dismissed by Kwekwe Magistrate Mildred Matuvi two weeks ago after the State said the two had a case to answer.

They were facing charges of contravening Section 7 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (MOPA).

The pair was arrested in July after allegedly holding  an unsanctioned procession in Mbizo.
Moyo and Marashe were allegedly  part of the team carrying out a procession in Mbizo leading to the arrest.
