A Kwekwe social media sensation and cross dresser Rangarirai Mutangi (31) popularly known as Mama Bless was slapped with an effective 75 years jail term by Kwekwe Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa after he was convicted of two counts of rape, five counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of indecent account following abuse of six children, five boys and one girl, from December 2024 to April 2026.

Magistrate Mugwagwa slapped him with 15years for the two counts of rape, 15 years each for the five counts of aggravated indecent assault and 15 years for indecent assault.

He will serve an effective 75 years behind bars.

Prosecutor Michelle Daraja Nyamadzawo appeared for the State.

On count one and two of rape Mutangi raped a 9 year old girl two times in a period extending from January to April 2026. He threatened the girl to shoot the girl with a gun if she revealed the rape to anyone. The girl did nor disclose the rape. The abuse came to light after the girl’s father heard rumours in the community that Mutangi abused children. Upon quizzing his child she then disclosed that she was raped twice and a police report was made leading to Mutangi’s arrest.

On the five counts of aggravated indecent assault, Mutangi preyed on five boys ages ranging between 10 and 11 years.

On one occasion he lured the boy into his room in Mbizo 1 where he gave him his cellphone to watch pornographic videos before assaulting him.

The other time he preyed on his neighbour’s child using the same trick of luring the boy to his room and showed him pornographic videos. He then proceeded to force himself on the boy through the anus, threatening to kill him with a gun that was on the bed.

The boy then narrated the ordeal to his mother on 19 April 2026 and a police report was made. Mutangi used the same trick to lure his victims to his house, forced them to strip, rubbed lubricant or Vaseline on their anus before sexually assaulting them threatening with a gun.

The children revealed the abuse one after the other following rumours of him being a predator.
