A Kwekwe man received a shock of his life when he realised that the ‘woman’ he had taken to cohabit with was actually a man.
Police said July James Mapawu (40) of Narans Building in Kwekwe met Praise Mpofu (25) of Ridgemont, Gweru who was dressed and pretending to be like a woman at a nightclub in Kwekwe.
Midlands Police Spokerperson Emmanuel Mahoko said Mpofu was arrested after he disguised himself as a woman and lured Mapawu whom he had met in a nightclub for a sexual relationship.
“Police confirms a case of sodomy which occured in Kwekwe between the months of July and September 2023,” said Mahoko.
“Mapawu proposed love to Mpofu who agreed and they began staying together at Mapawu’s residence where they had anal sexual intercourse several times,” said Mahoko.
Mpofu’s cover was blown after he had an erection whilst having sexual intercourse.
“On 7 September 2023 as the two were having anal sexual intercourse Mpofu allegedly had an erection and it came to light that he was a man and had been disguising as a woman all along resulting in a misunderstanding between the two,” he said.
The matter was reported to the police who attended the scene and the two suspects were arrested for sodomy.
Police are currently conducting investigations.
According to Mahoko the crime of sodomy-where men engage in sexual acts with other men is a serious crime according to the laws of the country.
