A man was found dead over the weekend in Fitchlea near Ely Drive.

According to Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the body of the man was discovered by a police officer who was on his way to Kwekwe Central Business District.

“A male  police officer was on his way to Kwekwe Central Business District along Amaveni road when he discovered a dead body lying in a pool of blood on the ground. Examinations during scene attendance resulted in the discovery of multiple deep cuts all over the body. Marks suggesting a struggle were seen on the ground and a torn work suit jacket was picked about 50 meters away from the body,” said Mahoko.

“The body of the deceased has since been identified as that of Brighton Moyo who had been last seen alive on 12 August 2023, around 2000 hours at Televivo Nightclub, Amaveni, Kwekwe. Investigations are still underway and no arrest has been made so far. As usual, we appeal for assistance from members of the public,” he said.
