System anomalies in Redcliff Municipality’s billing system for August and September left residents seething, forcing prompt action from Redcliff’s authorities.
Redcliff Town Clerk Gilson Chakauya acknowledged the system’s anomaly which had seen residents having problems with their billing statements.
“The Municipality would like to advise its valued residents and stakeholders that it has received numerous queries from residents and stakeholders that it has received numerous queries from residents on the bills received in the statements for the Months of Augusta and September 2023,” said Chakauya.
The town boss said the council is rectifying the problem following investigations.
“Council also did a verification exercise of these bills and acknowledges that in some cases there have been some problems on the statements which are a result of system anomalies. Therefore, the Municipality is currently working on identifying and rectifying these anomalies with our system providers and revised statements will be issued out as soon as the exercise is completed,” he said.
Chakauya described the situation as regrettable.
“Council sincerely apologizes to its residents and stakeholders for this challenge and any inconveniences’ that may have been caused as a result are sincerely regretted,” he said before urging residents to pay their bills.
“However, residents are being encouraged to continue paying their legacy debts to ensure uninterrupted service delivery,” he said.
