A 36-year-old Kwekwe sex pest, Farai Chinyerere, has been fined $100 by Magistrate Mildred Mutuvi after being found guilty of pestering a 13-year-old child for sex.
Chinyerere appeared in court last week facing charges of indecently assaulting the girl (name withheld) on December 2nd of last year.
According to the State, Chinyerere approached the girl in the middle of the night through her bedroom window and began harassing her. He allegedly ordered the girl to open the door for him, threatening to force entry into the house, saying, “I know you can hear me; you better open the door.”
The man claimed his wife was not at home and expressed a desire for immediate sexual intercourse, telling the girl, “I want you to carry my child; I am horny as we speak.”
He went further to say that if 9-year-old girls could have babies, there was no reason she couldn’t do the same. Despite attempting to force the door open, it fortunately remained shut, preventing further escalation.
In his defense, Chinyerere apologized and attributed his behavior to alcohol abuse. The magistrate issued a fine of $100, with a deadline for payment set at January 31, 2024. Failure to pay within the stipulated time will result in a 100-day jail sentence for Chinyerere.
