Former Gweru fugitive Peter Dube has been convicted on all charges, including two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder, following a ruling by the Bulawayo High Court. His sentencing is scheduled for 26 November 2025.
Dube was found guilty of fatally shooting Shelton ‘Shellaz’ Chiduku a well known Kwekwe socialite and Gamuchirai Madungwe and attempting to kill sisters, Nyasha and Nyaradzo Nharinyo on 22 April 2021, in a violent domestic confrontation that unfolded at an apartment in Gweru’s central business district.

According to court proceedings, Dube arrived home that day and discovered that his second wife, Nyasha Nharinyo, was not present. She later returned in the company of the other three victims. Dube locked himself in the apartment, prompting Nyasha to call his brother in an effort to access the home.
When the door was finally opened, Nyasha and Nyaradzo began packing their belongings, threatening to leave him. An enraged Dube retrieved a firearm and shot Chiduku, who was sitting in a vehicle outside with Madungwe. Both died at the scene.
Dube then re-entered the apartment, where he shot Nyasha and Nyaradzo Madungwe before fleeing. Both survived, leading to the attempted murder charges.
