Four armed robbers pounced on a Simbi Park family in Redcliff this morning raping and robbing the family members.

According to sources the robbers pounced on the family today (28th June 2023) around 0200 hours, after they gained access into the house by using an unknown object to open the kitchen window and twisted the burglar bars using a bolt cutter.

It is said after gaining entry into the house where the four family members were sleeping.

“Two of the armed robbers took turns to rape one of the family member after they got into the house. The robbers initially entered the first bedroom where they threatened one of the family members with an axe taking with them a Huawei cellphone after tying his hands with shoelaces. It is said they proceeded to the next bedroom and forcibly opened it using an unknown object, gaining entry into the room.

It is said they tied the mother’s hands using an electric cable and covered her with a blanket before assaulting her with an iron bar on the legs. It is said they demanded money, took US$120-00 and three Samsung cell phones,” said the source.

It is said they went to the other bedroom where they forced entry, assaulted one family member with an iron bar, and took her Samsung cellphone. It is also said they also took a laptop and US$30.

The robbers also took another laptop, US$10, and a Samsung cellphone from the fourth family member.

Two of the robbers took turns raping one family member.

After the robbery and rape, they attempted to steal an  Isuzu vehicle which was parked in the garage but they then went away leaving the car.
