Two men who are facing charges of sodomy after allegedly cohabiting as a couple performing anal sex were further remanded out of custody to 4 October 2023 when they appeared at Kwekwe Magistrates Court on Friday.

The duo of James Mapawa (40) and Praise Mpofu (22) were arrested for sodomy after Mapawa went to Kwekwe Central Police Station on 7 September 2023, reporting a misunderstanding with Mpofu.

The state heard that Mapawa reported that Mpofu was not a female and they had stayed together for two months as husband and wife having anal sex.

Police arrested the two and referred them to Kwekwe General Hospital for medical examinations.
