A corpse which is believed to have been talking and demanding back its body parts in Zhombe is still stuck at Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary over two months after it had been deposed there.
Police sources confirmed to this publication that the remains of Munyaradzi Dube (31) of Gokwe who was an artisinal miner operating in Zhombe before his grisly demise over two months ago are still stuck at the morgue.
“Its true the corpse is still at Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary. Relatives of the deceased are yet to collect the remains,” the source told this publication.
Gokwe Chief Milton Njelele in whose jurisdiction the now deceased used to reside is believed to be handling the matter.
Though the traditional crown could not be reached for comment by the time of publication, he is on record confirming that there are talks between the family of the now deceased and the family of the murder suspects to reach an amicable solution.
Efforts to bury the remains of Dube at his uncle’s place hit a snag after the now deceased is believed to have manifested through a relative demanding his missing body parts.
Before his corpse was found in a disused mining shaft in Zhombe in a suspected ritual murder, Dube had been missing for 21 days.
When his family made the tragic discovery, it is believed the now deceased directed them to his suspected killer’s homestead in Zhombe where his coffin was to spend nine days at the yard of the Muchechetere family.
It only took intervention of the police for the corpse to be ferried to Kwekwe General Hospital morgue were it has been deposed since then, “refusing to be buried.”
Dube was reportedly murdered at Zhombe Business Centre and his corpse was allegedly found with missing body parts which included a missing tongue, a left eye, and some hair from the back of his head.
While over a 100km away from the place which had snuffed off Dube’s young life, at his homestead in Vhurumu Village under Chief Njelele in Gokwe South his family had dug up a grave in preparation for his burial.
Over two months later, the grave remains empty, while Dube’s remains are believed to be speaking from the spirit world.
