A 17-year-old girl, Moreblessing Mazani lost her life after ingesting rat poison at Mlotshwa Village under Chief Samambwa in Zhombe on 17 August 2024 at about 1700 hours.
According to Midlands Police Spokesperson Emmanuel Mahoko the now deceased was at home in the company of her mother when their neighbour Beauty Sinyoro arrived, alleging that the juvenile had stolen $50-00 from her.
“The juvenile denied having stolen the money and went on to ingest rat poison. She was found lying on the ground at the gate with froth coming out of her mouth and nose,” said Inspector Mahoko.
Efforts to save her life were fruitless.

Inspector Mahoko called on members of the public to report criminal cases than trying to solve them.

“When criminal cases happen it is advised to have them investigated professionally,” he said.
