 Police in Kwekwe have arrested Hazvinei Makondera for alleged possession of dagga following a tip-off from an anonymous source.

Makondera was apprehended on 23 April 2025 at the Kwekwe Rank after police conducted a search and discovered dagga concealed in a taxi bag, hidden beneath clothing items. The recovered dagga is estimated to weigh 0.6 kilograms and is valued at approximately US$3,585.

The accused denied knowledge of the illicit substance, claiming she had merely collected a parcel sent by a relative. She recently appeared in court and was remanded in custody until 2 May 2025, when her trial is set to commence.
