A woman from Mbizo 6, Kwekwe, has appeared in court facing assault charges following a violent altercation with her husband.

Tungamirirai Nyoni was arraigned before the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court after allegedly assaulting her husband, Nkululeko Dube, during a domestic dispute on 1 May 2025.

According to court records, Nyoni slapped her husband three times with an open hand, choked him by the neck, and struck him with a stone. The altercation allegedly led to the breaking of the windscreen of a Toyota vehicle.

Nyoni pleaded guilty to assaulting her husband but denied responsibility for the damaged windscreen. She told the court that Nkululeko broke it himself while attempting to throw a stone at her during the confrontation.

She remains in custody, and the case has been remanded to 28 May 2025 for further hearing.
