The Young Miners Foundation (YMF) is gearing up for a pivotal leadership meeting on 31 January 2025, in Kwekwe, where key stakeholders from across the country will convene to shape the organization’s agenda for the year.
The meeting is expected to draw 30 participants from various provinces, all of whom will contribute to the development of a comprehensive strategic plan for the organization.
According to Payne Kupfuwa, CEO of YMF, “This is our first meeting for the year, and we are gathering as leaders from all the provinces, including the Young Miners Apex Council, YMF board of trustees, National executive, regional teams, and directors, as well as future potential leaders who are registered members.”
The meeting will focus on strategic planning, with a theme of “Young miners accelerating economic growth, innovating for greener horizons.”
Kupfuwa said that the gathering will be an opportunity for leaders to discuss, sharpen, and polish their skills, as well as share innovative ideas and explore the use of technology to drive growth and sustainability.
“We will be retrospecting and discussing plans for the year, focusing on innovative ideas, use of technology, growth, and safety,” Kupfuwa said. “We are committed to making a positive impact on the mining sector and contributing to Zimbabwe’s economic growth,” he said.
Kupfuwa said safety, health, environmental issues and formalisation will be topical at the meeting.
