Zvishamira elected Zibagwe chair

Zibagwe Rural District Council (ZRDC) Ward Councillor Chamunogwa Zvishamira was elected as the chairperson for the council uncontested on Thursday.

Zvishamira has retained the post which he held for the past five years.

He will be deputized by Ward councilor Idirashe Dongo who was also elected uncontested.

Committee member chairpersons were also elected.

Councillor Tichafa Chitate will chair the Finance committee whilst Councillor Basilio Mutosvori heads Audit. Councillor Nevison Dube will head the roads committee and Cleto Chifana took the planning committee.

Mhurai Muzunze was elected Local Economic Development chair whilst Errol Deetflefs will lead Human Resources.

The Environmental and Social Services committee will be chaired by Councillor Emmanuel Tshuma and Anastacia Mangani will chair Gender committee.

Zvishamira called on his fellow councilors in the committees to drive issues of bylaws and be transparent.

“As councilors we should be transparent and be united for the betterment and development of the community. We should deliver to the people who voted for us,” he said.
