All is set for Midlands Province Independence celebrations to be held at Mbizo Stadium on 18 April.

Kwekwe for the first time ever will host the celebrations running under the theme: Zimbabwe at 44 Unity, Peace, and Development towards Vision 2030.

Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Owen Ncube said every Zimbabwean should attend as it is no a political gathering.

Everyone should attend including members of the opposition as this is a momentous occasion, a state occasion not a political p[arty occasion,” he said.

Minister Ncube said everyone should work towards the success of the celebrations.

“Let us all put our shoulders to the wheel and ensure a resounding independence Day anniversary. I urge everyone to continue upholding unity of purpose, effective communication, collaboration, coordination as we prepare for the special day,” he said.

Meanwhile the stadium has been refurbished with its precast wall replaced and more water points being installed to give everyone access to water.
