Relatives of the twelve people who died yesterday in an accident at the 200km peg along the Harare- Bulawayo highway yesterday are currently gathered at Kwekwe Doves Funeral Services parlour waiting to identify bodies.
Kwekwe District Civil Protection Unit Chairperson Fortune Mupungu said they are currently waiting for official communications for state assisted funerals for the deceased.
“Six females and six males died yesterday in a tragic accident and this is a sad day for Kwekwe and Zimbabwe at large. We thank Doves for providing us with mortuary services. We are currently waiting for the government as we have requested state assisted funerals and the response has been positive so far,” said Mupungu.
National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they are currently waiting for some of the relatives of the deceased to identify the bodies before they release the names.
